It's been such a joy welcoming this little boy into the world! Just like the whole pregnancy, it still feels unreal that we have another kid. Thinking back to the beginning of this pregnancy and how we thought for sure we were going to lose him, my heart swells with thankfulness to have him here with us.
He decided to wait until my mom came to make his grand entrance! My mom flew in on Thursday and the next morning I was having intense contractions. I didn't have any back pain like I did with the girls and the contractions weren't close enough together for me to decide yet that I was in labor. But as the day went on, they got closer together and more intense so we went to the midwife around 4:45pm and found I was only 3cm dilated. I decided to wait at home until things picked up more and by 7pm the contractions were coming every 2 to 4 minutes and I began to feel like he was getting ready to come. I'm glad we only live 4 minutes away from the hospital otherwise I'm sure he would've been born in the car! We got to the hospital and found out I was 9cm dilated and ready to push. He was born within the hour weighing 6lb 15oz, being our smallest baby! My midwife has delivered thousands of babies and she gave me an A+ and was almost in tears when talking to me lol I thank God for giving me the grace I needed to go through another natural delivery. I was terrified to go through it again this time but He gave me every ounce of strength!
So far, he has been our calmest baby and we had an awesome hospital stay. He's a champ at sleeping and only cries during diaper changes. I'm loving every minute of it, he is such a blessing and we are so excited to have a little boy!! Ellie is like a little mom. She loves any chance to get to hold him and is exploding with love towards him! Macy is a bit aloof and was shy with him at first but is warming up and likes to pet his head :) We thank God for our little miracle!
