week 4

We have entered our 4th week of Homeschooling! It's definitely been a big learning process for me in figuring out the girls' learning styles. Macy & Ellie are totally different. With Macy, she is pretty into the projects and worksheets. She notices little details and points them out to me and she's much easier to work with in this whole homeschooling adventure. I love when she asks to do "School home" lol. With Ellie, it's been very difficult to get her to participate in what we're doing. She doesn't like to do any of the worksheets, games or crafts so I'm definitely trying to learn what her learning style is so she can be more engaged and interested in what we're doing. She is very into imaginative play and being active which is very opposite of me so I know it will be a bit difficult to figure out ways to include that into our learning. I am glad that I've started homeschooling though as it has made me see their differences and made it easier to narrow down curriculum when the time comes when I HAVE to teach full on.

We went on a little walk today around our apartments and found some fun things from nature that we turned into a nature play. We found acorns, berries and picked up different color leaves. I had little wooden pegs and we set all our things up on the play table and that kept them busy for quite a while.

Now they are currently trying to smash open the acorns & berries. Ellie says "It's interesting to see inside!" .. think I've just gained some insight to part of her learning style :)

  1. hum Ellie likes looking in things perhaps she would like to be a surgeon, open people up and see what's inside and fix them. :-)
