2 weeks

I'm coming to the close of week 2 of school. So far it's been really good in drilling in truths that I knew already of God's word but can now actually grab hold of. 

In my time at Ellerslie so far as a student, I'm learning what it means to get off the throne of my life and let Jesus on it. I've realized how utterly selfish I am and how self has been exalted above Christ. I'm learning how to die daily to selfish desires and cravings (and simply put- die to myself) and to turn to Jesus in all things. 

This morning we had to be at school by 6am which meant getting out of the door by 5:30am. I had been up since 3:20am and then woke the girls up way earlier than normal to scoot out the door but I feel like God's grace has carried me through the entire day. I was actually more energized and awake then I usually am when I get to sleep in til 6:30. The girls also took naps at school which I was so thankful for since they had an early morning and haven't been napping much since school started.

Beau had prayer with some others this morning so the girls & I had 2 hours to 'waste' until school started. It was a beautiful morning so we spent those hours sitting by the lake and taking a nice morning walk. I was glad to enjoy the perfect temperature in the quiet of the morning near the lake before it got too hot.

The beauty of summer is sparking up the desire of living in a tent again but it is way too hot now for that. I'm thinking Colorado isn't the best place for tent living ;) It goes from one extreme to the next.

I'm looking forward to my mom & mother-in-law flying in next month for Ellie's birthday! We haven't told her about it and will throw her a surprise party with some of our friends. I can't wait ;) July should be an exciting month!
