camping

This past weekend we had the opportunity to go camping with our friends from Australia & Canada! We've begun to grow really close with these two couples and we cherish their friendship. We had a great time and it happened to be a weekend that some church was having a reunion at the campgrounds so there were believers ALL over the place which was really awesome. Saturday night we had a few families join us for music and marshmallows and had a good time of fellowship.

It was neat to get to go camping this time with the mind set of this is how we will be living some day, only we were in a much smaller tent. The girls did surprisingly well even despite it being pretty cold at night. I've always been super careful not to wake Macy up because she is the difficult sleeper and I was really nervous about having Ellie sleeping right next to her but they were worn out enough that they slept really well without waking each other up. The second night, Macy even put herself to bed which was fantastic for me! We went to go get changed and she just laid down on her mattress and went to sleep. :)

Beau and I were talking about how it'd be cool to even travel in a normal tent (instead of the canvas wall tent) if we didn't have any specific direction the Lord was leading us in. So that could always be a possibility as well.

I think we could easily live this way. All we really need is food, water, shelter and clothing (and fire :). Everything else is just luxuries. We only went camping for 2 days but it just seems doable for us. On another note: We're almost fridgless! Just a few more things in the fridge to eat up then it'll be time to unplug it. Then next comes the dishwasher... yikes!

There's new things on the horizon that Beau brought to my attention when he came home from school today. I won't share them just yet but it's pretty exciting to me and requires a lot of prayer. So please pray with us for clear direction from the Lord for this upcoming year.

"....may you be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." Colossians 1:9-14
