For the last 9 weeks, Beau has been going to a Christian bible school where he went through intense discipleship for basic training. Most people come only for those 2.5 months then take what they've learned back to their hometowns or wherever the Lord leads them. Some, like Beau, choose to go through to the advanced training which continues about another 8 months. The basic training class had their graduation last night. The speaker, Eric Ludy (Author and also the founder of the school, Ellerslie) called each graduate's name also giving them a verse and a title that described them. Beau was called 'The consecrated Firebrand', One who stands for truth. And how appropriate that was for him! Many people have spoken into Beau's life saying he was a reformer or could see him starting a reformation. He is completely sold out for the truth of God's word and will defend it til death. Ever since we began dating, he has always said he wanted to die a martyr and I could see that happening while defending the word of God. Something I've always admired about him is that he doesn't follow the traditions of men or take a preacher at his word. He goes straight to the bible and will study it until he knows without a doubt if something that was preached, or a tradition of men, or a doctrine, is correct or not. And because of this, I never have to worry about him leading his family astray.
If I could sum up these past 2.5 months of What I think God has been showing me, it's been what it looks like to be a crucified christian. I wrote about the 3 different types of christians in my last post and God is working in me to cross over the line to be a completely surrendered, crucified christian. It's been an awesome 9 weeks and I'm looking forward to what else God is going to teach us during this season. I'm proud of my husband for humbling himself before our God and to see how God is forming him into His image.
*Congratulations Husfrend on your first graduation & for pushing through! :)
