A little about me-
I'm a Housewife and a stay at home mom. I'm 22 years old with a 1 year old daughter and another girl on the way. My life is serving Jesus Christ and I desire to do His will and have it be accomplished in my life as well as my family. I love surprises. I love adventure and spontaneity but also like to have a plan and be prepared.
Tonight I have felt a strong desire, like I've not really felt before, to really become the Proverbs 31 woman that the bible talks about. To really strive to be the best I can be for my family and more importantly, for God. I envision myself to be a strong woman that isn't lazy. Who keeps up the household duties and cooks good healthy dinners for my family. Who can have a nice relaxing house ready for my husband to come home to after a day's work. Who keeps her kids in line and raises them in the fear of the Lord. To have daily devotional and prayer time with my heavenly Father and not watch nearly as much t.v or spend nearly as much time on the internet as I do now. To try to always have a positive attitude, look for ways to serve my family, build a deeper bond with my husband, and take this life that God has blessed me with and live it to the fullest. I feel like I can do so much more.
So, that being said.. I'm on my quest to become more like a [modern day] Proverbs 31 woman.
Proverbs 31:10-31
A truly good wife is the most precious treasure a man can find!
Her husband depends on her, and she never lets him down.
She is good to him every day of her life,
and with her own hands she gladly makes clothes.
She is like a sailing ship that brings food from across the sea.
She gets up before daylight to prepare food for her family and for her servants.
She knows how to buy land and how to plant a vineyard, and she always works hard.
She knows when to buy or sell, and she stays busy until late at night.
She spins her own cloth, and she helps the poor and the needy.
Her family has warm clothing, and so she doesn't worry when it snows.
She does her own sewing and everything she wears is beautiful.
Her husband is a well-known and respected leader in the city.
She makes clothes to sell to the shop owners.
She is strong and graceful, as well as cheerful about the future.
Her words are sensible, and her advice is thoughtful.
She takes good care of her family and is never lazy.
Her children praise her and with great pride her husband says,
"There are many good women, but you are the best!"
Charm can be deceiving, and beauty fades away,
But a woman who honors the LORD deserves to be praised.
Show her respect-- praise her in public for what she has done.
